Have to make it worth someone's while to play in these games. Bonus NIL $, insurance policies, etc.
Yes, I feel dirty bringing up that sort of thing.

Watching Ohio State-Missouri and The Ohio State University can't do anything on offense, mainly just running plays because their starting QB is not playing and is transferring to Syracuse. Anyone know the reason he is leaving TOSU? I don't get it; he led them to victory over ND! Rumor was that he asked for assurances regarding starting next year (in light of the Michigan loss and some other criticism he received) and asked for additional NIL dollars. He got neither. Word is Syracuse offered both. There was some surprise that the guy who only lost one game (and it was by 6 to top-ranked Michigan at Michigan) would drop all the way down to Syracuse but that’s another story. "drop all the way down to Syracuse"? I don't thin k that is an accurate assessment. The Orange have been raking high quality transfers under their new coach, and some key players who had initially entered the portal have now said they are coming back. I expect they will be a powerhouse this coming season. Just our luck.

This game may have opened up some eyes in terms of his options via the portal. Leonard’s an undergraduate one-year transfer so ND looks to have his successor in place (Carr). BTW Leonard is VERY unusual as an undergraduate upper class transfer to ND. They really don’t do that sort of thing so he must have a strong Duke transcript. I’ve heard it twice in the last week on different broadcasts that ND is being more flexible in various ways to try to help the football team compete with the big boys. Leonard is a good example. That lack of flexibility is basically why Brian Kelly left for LSU....He knew he could never win at South Bend

Undefeated FSU down 56-3 to Georgia - next time the NIL contracts have to include playing in bowl games - it’s ruining much of the post season

It ain’t ever gonna be Bama but they should have a legit shot at the 12 team CFP most years.

63-3 Georgia win. A bunch of Georgia players saw their first action of the season and scored tonight.

Bowl teams decimated by portal transfers, opt outs and injuries. Maybe college football was better when the players received the cash under the table in brown paper bags. Keeping money payments illegal with players receiving large sums of dirty money at least was a check keeping these guys on the field. Possibly scholarship contracts should include a clause requiring players to play with the team except for documented injury subject to loss of any scholarship money. Of course there is the issue of NIL. Can't do much about that.

Without much thought, I believe the “student athlete” should be required to sign a contract agreeing to repay all tuition and room and board if they decide to opt out of bowl games. This has become a disgrace.

Michigan-Alabama was the proverbial “barn burner” or “rock fight” if you prefer a 4acreism. Wolverines in OT.
Texas-Washington looks just as close all tied up at the half but I’m about to retire for the night. The Washington QB is absolutely amazing with his passes. Incredible games!

I guess good enough to put Washington into the championship game against Michigan. Haven’t watched the second half tape yet but saw the final score.
Not a huge fan of FBS (unless it’s against HC) but this should be a great game.

Interesting ending- Washington player suffered a serious injury (ankle or knee) had to be helped off then carted off after the game.
Excluding the injury, Texas would have gotten the ball w/between 15 and 20 seconds left. Instead, they got it w/50 left (plus a very dumb 15 yard penalty for interfering w/a fair catch) and moved it down the field.
Surprised the rule called for the clock to be stopped...thought it would resume running from where it left off; perhaps some adjustment to the play clock, but that's all).

I didn't see the ending. But when it's under two minutes and the clock is stopped for an injury, the opposing team (TX in this case) has the option of a ten-second runoff, which they're obviously not going to choose. They also have the option of whether the clock starts on the ready or on the snap. Again obviously they'll take snap. Because the injury was to a player of the offense, the play clock is set to 25. Had it been on the defense it would be 40. Irrelevant in this case because we're going on the snap. Probably more than you wanted to know.

I am just a casual Bowl game watcher, but yesterday drew me in. I have to say, both of the games were off the charts great matchups. Michigan had a complete game and looked solid against Alabama. Washington - Texas may have been a little late for you East Coast guys to stick with, but the Huskies also played at a consistent, high level. Both games went down to the final play. The Washington QB was unbelievably mobile in the pocket while being accurate on those long throws, time after time. The game next Monday night should be a heck of a tilt.

The Selection Committee got it right, despite all the heat....hard to top 2 games going down to the last play......but ZERO reason for the 2nd game ending @ 12:50 AM EDT
