When was the last time men’s lacrosse started 2-1 iIn 2020, they started 4-1. All four wins were by one goal.

Excellent to see the Crusaders doing well in February...it's been a long time coming! The question is whether they'll be able to keep the momentum going as the schedule gets tougher. They travel to Hanover on Saturday to play a Big Green team fresh off a loss to Bucknell, who was really in control the whole game – I would imagine they'll be hungry for their first win of the season.

SHU just topped Fairfield tonight - dominated for most of the game there. Looking like more of a quality win for the Crusaders!! All eyes on Dartmouth...

Interested to see what kind of team Dartmouth has after a tough 1st loss to a Patriot League foe Bucknell. Seems as though Bucknell started slow with two ~ somewhat ~ surprising losses to Merrimack and Marist. From what I have heard the boys scrimmaged Marist in a pre-season matchup and faired well against the Red Foxes, does anyone have the final on that? It was Dartmouth's first game of the year so can imagine they were shaking off some cobwebs. Hopefully, JL will have the boys ready to rock n' roll in the first half as last year was a tough watch.

Dartmouth up 5-0 after ten minutes.
Unfortunately, we can't play Lowell and Sacred Heart in all of our games.

Dartmouth up 9-4 early 3rd. Face offs are close but Dartmouth has twice as many shots.

I don't think the Holy Cross played particularly poorly on Saturday for the last 40 minutes of the game, but it's near impossible to dig yourself out of a 5 goal deficit at any point. Starting slow seems to be a nasty habit the 'Saders can't kick.
Anyway, the season that really matters starts on Saturday...

A comparative score from last night. Lehigh beat Dartmouth 11-6 in a game played at a neutral site, Trinity College in Hartford

We scored the first 3 goals of the 4th qtr to tie the game at 9 but Bucknell finished the game with 3 goals for 12-9 win. Seems to me we’re improving

I didn’t watch any of it, but the team stats show a reasonably close game. Bucknell did get 2 man up goals to none for HC.

Recent alum McIntire (benched against Dartmouth last year in the snow game where the players wore sweatpants), just scored the game-winner for Villanova in a tight one against Drexel

A few West Point players were just added to the Tewaaraton watchlist (Coletti, Morin, & Plunkett). Going to be quite interesting to see how HC stacks up against the best of the best...

Army is undefeated including a win at Syracuse - their no.3 ranking is deserved To keep it somewhat competitive will be great

Losing to Army, ranked third in the county, 5-1, seven minutes into the game.
Going to be a long afternoon.

We don’t have many opportunities left on the schedule to pick up wins, but today is one of our better chances at home against Lafayette.
That said, Lafayette played Army to a much more competitive game than we did, so this figures to be a challenging game for us.

Many of our losses over the last few years are not as close as the scores indicate (not saying the scores are particularly close). Yesterday, for example, Laffy was up 16-4 at the start of the 4th quarter...final score 17-8. Lots of calling off of the dogs, substitutions, and even goalie substitutions.
Don't see our issues as facilities or coaches.
Significant boost in schollie dollars, wisely divvied up to lure in some quality players, is the only route to reducing the talent gap and consistently finishing near the top of the Patriot League. I don't think HC admin is interested.

What is the scholarship disparity in the PL between HC and other schools?
How many scholarships does Bucknell and Lafayette give? 137?

I don’t have first hand info but I’m almost certain Lafayette made a commitment about 3 years ago to boost athletic aid for men’s lax ( and their results show it ) Bucknell has not played well so far this season and lost at home this weekend to Colgate 17-4

Thanks, haze.
Can't be easy for our guys knowing they're going into every PL game as big underdogs and trying to not get our score doubled up is a challenge.
We travel to Navy this weekend. Navy just beat Johns Hopkins in overtime. This won't be fun or pretty.
