The sad thing about what transpired at Columbia is that many of those who trespassed and broke into a building on campus were not even students, but rather professional protesters / agitators.

Take one game from Lafayette on Saturday and we're in the PLT.
Will be traveling to Annapolis, unless we take all four games this weekend and Army loses all four (not happening).
It would be a major accomplishment if we are able to finish the regular season at .500 -- in order to do so, need to take three of four against the L schools.

Two scoreless innings tonight gives DC a sub 2.00 ERA (best on the team for those who have pitched more than ten innings).

My guess is that Green, Richards, Singelton, or Williams will be part of the starting backcourt along with Boston. Are there any other options?

This stinks.
It's almost like -- Be good, but not TOO good so you feel compelled to transfer to cash in on an NIL deal. And, be just good enough so you play as an underclassmen so you don't want to transfer, but also be a late-bloomer so we can get four years out of you.
College basketball sucks.

We beat Lafayette in the PLT in the "play-in" round (8 v. 9).
First time in history?

Jared Grosso is resurrected at The Knox School, a small private school in western Suffolk, Long Island. The school is trying to become a hoops power. No comment Not a fan of second chances?

Army scored 2 in the bottom of the ninth to beat Navy 7-6 and win that series - likely Army will be top seed Navy finishing 15-10. They can do no worse than finishing second (hold the tiebreaker against us). Army would have to lose out and we'd have to win out to finish ahead of them. Not happening.

If scores hold up from today’s games, Lehigh and Lafayette will almost assuredly be done.
Bucknell will have finished the PL regular season at 12-13. So long as we finish with 12 wins, we’ll beat Bucknell with the head to head tiebreaker.
Just a question of whether we are going to Annapolis or West Point now.

11-2 T3. We’ve all but punched our ticket to the playoffs. Now it comes down to positioning. I presume we are the 11 Yes. Now 12-2.

It's pretty damn impressive the list of HC guys who have made the practice squad or better in recent years -- Chandler Fenner Kalif Raymond Jimmy Murray Benton Whitley Liam Anderson Ayir Asante Jalen Coker CJ Hanson Have I missed anyone? Also probably a bit too early to include Ayir in this list. He will have a bigger hill to climb in camp to make a practice squad compared to BW, Liam and Jalen as UDFAs. Yes, you’re right. Jumped the gun with him.

Brett McDermott also close with the Colts. Recall he was one of the final cuts for the 53.

Like with most things in life, don’t underestimate relationship capital here for our guys. CJ - GM of the Chiefs Brett Veach is a childhood friend and grew up with Chesney. They are still very close. Jalen - obviously Steve Smith’s evaluation played a role here. They basically guaranteed him at minimum a 17 week practice squad spot for the 2024 season which you don’t often see. Ayir - HC connection to the G Men is well documented through class of 2005 WR Tim McDonnell. Grandson of Wellington Mara and has worked in the front office for the Giants for nearly 2 decades. He spent 2 years as a GA at Notre Dame on Charlie Weiss’ staff after graduating from HC. One other potential connection here for Jalen -- although it's a bit of a reach -- is that Carolina's WR coach was the Titans' WR coach when Kalif played there. Blaise Bell also a scout for the Giants, so another strong connection.

Five more PL games left for us.
Going 2-3 will almost assuredly get us in.
Going 1-4 and we'd still have a decent chance.
In all likelihood, we are looking at a trip to Annapolis in the 2 v. 3 first round series. Beats going to West Point.

12 total if you include OL from Yale Nick Gargiulo (grad year at South Carolina) who was second to last overall pick to the Broncos. Players are counted as FCS if they graduate from their respective FCS school and only play 1 grad transfer season. Ie Luke Newman would count. And 13 if you also include Hunter Nourzad who graduated from Cornell and took his final years of eligibility at Penn State.

Current standings Army- 13-7 Navy- 15-9 HC- 10-10 Bucknell- 11-13 Lafayette- 8-12 Lehigh- 7-13 Does anyone know why Navy is listed always with an asterisk after its name ? They’ve clinched a spot in the playoffs.

Excellent post. HC could redirect money from the pledge to meet the full financial need of every enrolled student to providing high amounts of merit and athletic scholarship aid to the students it thinks will help the college the most. That approach has weaknesses also as the lower range of admitted students might have to be richer with lower academic aptitude than currently and diversity could suffer. It's tough but you can't spend the same dollar twice. The only wiggle room might be budgeting a little extra to attract and retain the small percentage of coaches who have proven they can recruit, scheme, motivate and win at Holy Cross or a reasonable facsimile of Holy Cross. I think Kit has come close to this with the Paulsen and Curran hires and MB did a good job identifying Magarity and Riga. The question is how much money is there to implement that strategy in the non-revenue sports? Apparently not enough. Genuine question: What (if any) HC sports really generate revenue? I could see football, but beyond that I can't image many are getting close to breaking even. Football loses a ton of money each year. No sport generates revenue at HC.

Yes, the cost of college is the scam.
The other scam are colleges admitting full pay kids who might not be academically qualified for the college.
Given what we’ve seen transpire on college campuses in recent years, I’m becoming more and more convinced degrees from a lot of colleges are cheapened. This is venturing into the political sphere (apologies), but isn’t it quite the commentary on the state of higher education when Columbia’s tuition is $90K and is now going virtual because they need to allow their campus get overrun by people who are pro-Hamas.
When I see this — scam.

College cost is the biggest redistribution of wealth scheme in the country. Definitely one of the bigger scams going around these days.
