No one is being forced to go to the game, watch it online or comment on it on the board. Just saying. For me, if I'm going to go watch a practice, I might as well attend a game, no matter who is playing. Should also be noted that there are similar threads on dozens and dozens of other message boards. No one actually likes these games. To me, it's a low priority in terms of things that need improving. Here is an example from the Lasalle Message Board. As noted by NAD, HC is not the only team playing a local D3 team to complete the schedule. explorertown.proboards.com/thread/4617/game-thread-rosemont-d3-30pm

Ok, I just noticed the game is now scheduled for Friday the 29th at 2 pm. The schedule I printed from thr HC site at the beginning of the season has the game on Saturday the 30th at 2. My Digital tickets have on them at 12 am on the 29th.
Anybody know how long it takes on ESPN+ to see a replay?

It is typically available a few minutes after the finish of the broadcast (the game and post-game interviews).

Full disclosure: my wife's oldest sister went to (College of Our Lady of the) Elms and married a College of the Holy Cross grad. Neither will be watching this game.

If you want to get MBB out of it's currant morass step one is to stop scheduling these games.

As I posted on the "nadir" thread and will ask here since no one responded:

Scheduling Elms is a disgrace. Schedule Assumption or Bentley or find a pay game somewhere and make some money. What will be the attendance for this game. Probably less than 100. Disgrace is the right word......In my lifetime, having seen Lou Carnesecca and John Thompson walk into the same arena that Elms College will be walking into, is hard to get your hands around

As I posted on the "nadir" thread and will ask here since no one responded: I would say that the probability is at least 99% that the game was scheduled by DP. Very unlikely that a coach on his way out would’ve scheduled a game like this back in January, or February.

Disgrace is "bigfan's" opinion. He has a right to it and it shows strong feelings but as has been stated on this thread in earlier posts there are some good reason for scheduling such a game. I might easily say that calling the scheduling of a D3 team a disgrace is a pretty "disgraceful" thing to do...way over the top but just my opinion, of course.

Perhaps MBB should mimic WBB's scheduling of D-3 Connecticut College, which could easily be confused with the University of Connecticut, by scheduling D-3 Lasell University in Newton which could easily be confused with LaSalle University of Philadelphia, or D-3 RI College which could be confused with URI.

What are those good reasons again ?? You can look back if you want. They are there to see. Howeber, as I remember some: 1. it is a guaranteed home game 2. it is against a team willing to play us - no one ooc is lining up to get a game with HC at this point. 3. it does offer our players a chance to work on their teamwork and skills in a low pressure situation 4. it is most likely a win - although some might prefer a loss against a "name" team, most fans see a loss as just that...a loss. There were others but that is a start. BTW, I find asking others to do the work to provide you with something you seem to need that is already out there both lazy and "disgraceful." I would certainly prefer HC to schedule only D1 opponents. Perhaps you remember when Navy was criticized on this board for scheduling multiple D2 and D3 opponents every year. As was pointed out, this is something that almost every team does with some doing it more than others, One such game is hardly a disgrace if an opponent and a home game is needed.

I think the major one is that it's a home game. This year there are 13 OOC games. 3 Guarantee games. 3 games in a tournament. That leaves 7. If they are all D-I home and homes that would mean some years with only 3 home games. Although I am not a fan of D-III games, I understand the logic of setting up an annual home game. One might argue that HC could reduce the guarantee games and add home and homes. However there is a benefit to those as well. Not the least of which is they help pay the bills. One can argue the choices made. However, even as someone that does not agree with the decision, I can see a reasonable thought process behind the decision to schedule D-III games

Personally, I'd like to see HC get back to those old series from the 60's and 70's; you know - St. Anselms, Springfield College, St. Michael's, Catholic U. and the Unversity of Rochester. . Did they sell out the Aud for those?

Princeton plays Bryn Athyn and Delaware Valley, both D3, back to back. Dartmouth plays Westfield State. I don't love the D 3 games, but I get it and I'm no longer bothered by it.

Just saw that tomorrow is 70s Day. That should get the crowd rockin’. Better than “Sustainability Night” against Maine, I guess.

Assume that means that Holy Cross will be wearing the Perry/Potter/Vicens era throwback uniforms. That might get Tom to play hooky from work.

And if thats what it's about, why not play a team that has a fighting chance to be competitive, like a D2.

Sadly, before hearing about Potter era uniforms I brought my leisure suit with bell bottomed pants to the cleaner and it won't be ready for tomorrow. I'd feel silly dressed at 70's afternoon in anything else

Can’t believe I missed Sustainability Night.
Have you ever seen a hostage video involving HC players? The Sustainabiltiy Night promo looks like one. Was that Tse’s last day as a member of the team? Can’t say as I’d blame him if that was the last straw.
