I'll be happy for Tse if he can get his degree in May, but he looks like Paul Whelan in this promo. Tse played with enthusiasm when he got in there, I hope he has an ailment or other reason to miss a few games and we will see him again during league play.
Jade has had quite a journey from HS ball in NYC to a PG year at Deerfield Academy averaging 22.7 points per game as a team captain to a red-shirt year at Salt Lake Community College (that's got to be a good story. Not too many NEPSCAC direct to Community College journeys) to two years starting most games at Houston Baptist. Then he ran into BN.
I hope he graduates from HC and becomes a proud lifetime Crusader.

Can’t believe I missed Sustainability Night. Have you ever seen a hostage video involving HC players? The Sustainabiltiy Night promo looks like one. Was that Tse’s last day as a member of the team? Can’t say as I’d blame him if that was the last straw. Tse was on the bench at B.C. after this video. He is also mentioned in Coach Paulsen's letter. Nothing specific about why is not dressing at this time and no timeline for his return, but he is still a member of the team

The PG position had a four year ensemble cast under FCBN that I can not recall being duplicated in the past 50+ years of HC MBB.

Can we please get this discussion back on track and redirected to the tip off of what I hope to be a long and fierce local rivalry with the Elms College?

I'll try to count the attendees today - if it's under 100 bigfan wins a Hart pretzel.

I'll try to count the attendees today - if it's under 100 bigfan wins a Hart pretzel. Don't discount the tens of Elms fans willing to travel from Chicopee to see them take on a higher level opponent...akin to the many students and alums who travelled to Chestnut Hill and West Point for the football team this year

A couple of noteworthy stats on Elms:
1) they are shooting 24% from three for the year 2) over the last 2 games they have had 23 and 25 turnovers, respectively 3) the largest crowd that Elms has played in front of this season is 254
Here's another interesting stat about a HC opponent. According to Pomeroy, HC is ranked #353 and Siena, one of our losses, is actually ranked below us as # 360 out of 362 schools.

I honestly didn’t think it was possible to sink lower than Nelson’s teams. While I still have faith in DP, I thought he could take 12 kids from the dorms and do better than Nelson.
I will be greatly disappointed if we don’t do significantly better once we start the PL schedule.

I'm too lazy to look this up, but with 2 OOC D-1 wins, isn't that better than what the previous guy accomplished?
I may get crushed by some for this, but I think the team has made progress recently. I am looking at this much differently than I will be in a couple of years, but right now the margin of defeats don't concern me as much as how long did the guys compete in individual games. As an example, people look at the BC game and see a 40 point defeat (or whatever it was). For me, I saw a game where they competed with an ACC team for 20-22 minutes. I would rather see that than a 25 point loss where they were out of it from the get go.
They are also a couple of 2 point losses away from having 4 D-1 OOC wins. I really do believe they are on the right track.....but the track is very, very long, unfortunately. We won't learn much today, but I still think this group can benefit from getting a W before going into PL play (whether or not the opponent is D-1, 2, 3, high school, whatever). They haven't won since early November - if they have to play this game, IMHO this is the best time to.

I will be greatly disappointed if we don’t do significantly better once we start the PL schedule. If you tell me the team will be 100% healthy going into league play I would agree. Unfortunately, 100% health seems a rare commodity. I'm heartened, though, by the improvement of the freshmen. The playing time they are getting is going to pay dividends down the road. When I watch this team they look to me like a team that is being coached up. I did not think that watching BN's teams.

I'm too lazy to look this up, but with 2 OOC D-1 wins, isn't that better than what the previous guy accomplished? It equals what the previous guy accomplished in the last 4 years...granted one of those years there was no OOC schedule. One of his wins was also against CCSU who we have lost to this year, so there's that. I notice on the schedule it is "70s Day"...not sure of what that entails, perhaps its a prediction of the approximate attendance.

It's the likely latest class graduation decade of the average attendees.

Assume that means that Holy Cross will be wearing the Perry/Potter/Vicens era throwback uniforms. That might get Tom to play hooky from work. The Potter-Vicens unis from 74-77 were different from this. This is more like the 78-82 (or thereabouts) threads. The earlier set resembled UNCs unis of the same time period. thebaccrag.com/2009/12/11/chris-potter-quite-the-crusader/

I would take Ernie playing on this team even in our current unis. Yes, even in his 60s.

Here is another snippet of sunshine on a dreary day in Central Mass:
Pretty sure all 5 of the schollie freshmen have at least 1 double digit scoring game, less than halfway through the season. Now granted, you can say it's a function of how poor the team might be, but how often does that occur? If nothing else, for me the most positive aspect of the season is, those 5 guys have done nothing to make me think they have no chance of being solid low D-1 players someday.
In the Harvard game, in the first half Ryan got stuffed when trying to score on a post up play. He leaned in agressively, then went up. The ball was half blocked out of bounds, but he went in towards his defender, and then up. In,,, and up...; no fading away. I'll bet a year from now that is an And 1, if not sooner.
Just watching these 5 is what is making it interesting for me.

I still wish the lettering is much larger than those shown above. I came across a 2013 game against Fairfield on youtube the other day, and the lettering even then was so much bigger and bolder.

You may be right that it is more the early 80's throwback, but I was thinking of these from 1977-78.
