I did not realize Smith hurt the ankle yesterday; Coach Langel, I would definitely keep him out Wednesday; no use taking chances.
Rumor has it both Records and Richardson skinned their knees late in the Bucknell game as well; I would leave them in Hamilton on Wednesday.

While it's possible that 92 has used it (maybe even probable) the phrase was coined by Non Alum Dave Thinking of former posters. . . while HC70 was quite the road warrior and went to many sporting events, I don't know that Sarasota ever left the sunshine to see a sporting event. In all fairness, if he did show up at Hart, I probably wouldn't recognize him Speaking of HC70, I'll never forget the splash he made at the HC at Lafayette PL tournament game (FCSK's last game) in 2010. Ok, I do forget specifics, but he made some non flattering post here about the Leopards; when we were entering the lobby to the gym printouts of the post were being distributed to fans as they entered. Course we know the outcome of the game.

Navy has really dug themselves an early hole - if I've not mistaken, they've already lost 3 home games.

All you need to know about last nights' game: coming in, Nolan Dorsey had 17 turnovers for the entire season; last night he had 5 (and no assists).
What a strange offensive game (and not a recipe for success): in the space of about 12 minutes or so of game time, 2 guys scored over half of the teams' point for the whole game. Just crazy.
Octave just can't be right - although he did take 2 charges, I don't remember trying to get to the hoop off the dribble (his biggest strength). And Bo just isn't playing with the consistency you want out of an upperclassman.
Did GG's tremendous start turn the rest of the guys into spectators? Their overall play certainly reflected that.
Well, they need to shake it off. They really could use a W Saturday.......and Lafayette will not be an easy, regardless of their record.

It actually looks funny seeing a tall kid on the floor in purple.
Not a lot of other chuckles, however.

Just finished watching the game tape after coming home from the Loyola basketball game. Most have already posted my thoughts including stealing our alley oop/jump ball RB to TE TD pass though SDSU did it on 3rd down and we did on 4th and don't believe it went to a tight end for them. I was listening to the game on the radio on my way home from the Hart, and started chuckling - I remember a Jacks fan or 2 on their board complain how HC needed to resort to trickery to be able to compete with them. Oh well, congrats to SDSU.

Nice win.
I too have doubts about whether this will be sustainable, but nevertheless I am enjoying watching this team right now; I could not have envisioned anything like this 3 weeks ago. Not giving the coaching a single thought at this time; just trying to live in the moment. It's good to see the smiles on the players' faces; I hope they can keep it going at least until the students get back - maybe a few will show up at some games and get interested.
I thought Loyola did as good a job as anyone in using their height advantage (certainly with offensive rebounding). Towards the endgame I wondered if CBN was going to send in a Kirkwood or Wilbar to play Hack-A-Dike, but thankfully it did not come down to that.
Tse seems to be taking better care of the ball lately; that's good. I agree with others about the pull-up game for Bo. Batch is looking a little more to go towards the basket; he has that pull up ability as well. Octave seems to be the craftiest near the hoop.
Healthwise, I'm now starting to worry a little about Dorsey. The kid is giving up his body like nobody's business; I hope he stays in one piece.
Big week coming up with them before Colgate next Wednesday (by the way, that is going to be Dental Appreciation Night - they will be giving out free Crest products to fans. At least that is what the PA guy said!).

Just a crushing defeat.
Have to give a lot of credit to AU; sure, HC executed poorly in crunch time, but AU still had to make great plays, and they did. They really look to be maturing as a team. They kept within striking distance the whole way; a lesser team might have gotten down by double digits and not have been able to come back.
The notion that the guys quit in the OT is silly, at best. They were totally, totally gassed. And not only that, but getting to the OT obviously gave AU a real adrenaline boost. The other team sometimes has a say in the outcome.
If HC had been playing this kind of D from the beginning of the season they could have won another 2-3 games imho. FINALLY, they seem to be developing a bit of an identity. As Tim says, though, there is no margin for error. And the pressure to score is completely on the core group.
Hopefully they can quickly put it behind them and get to 3-1 with a win Sunday. But right now my biggest concern is the health of Octave - he spent most of his bench time on the bike. A couple of times I saw him wincing after coming down from jumping. His left elbow may also be bothering him. Should they lose him they might as well turn out the lights.

Cohen is very good, SoV; have seen him a couple of times now.
What I love the most about Gerrale is his no nonsense, old school approach to the game. There have been many times when he could have gone up for a big dunk, followed by the usual gyrations that we see all the time. GG just kisses it off the window. Love how he is so patient with his moves as well. I'm really curious as to who may have influenced him when he first started playing.
Just a shame that he couldn't have come along during better times for the program; he deserves better.

Technically, there are more than 4 D1 schools who haven't been to the Dance, with the additions over the last decade, but I assume the writer also includes Bill and Mary, The Citadel and UNH as the other 3 who haven't been?

It looks like Kirkwood is earning more trust from the coach, while Wilbar seems to be going in the other direction. Kirkwood himself did not have any numbers to speak of, but being out there at least helped CBN manage the foul situation. We talked about it on another thread, but Kirkwood does not shoot -15 minutes today with no attempts for example. As discussed before- is it due to his reluctance to shoot or because coaches have told him not to shoot? 79 minutes of play with 4 field goal attempts is amazing As long as he is not making mistakes, or hurting the offense by not trying to score, I'm not concerned at this point. Without his minutes a couple of guys might have fouled out early.

But he is well behind RJ in driving, drawing fouls, finishing, rebounding at both ends and defending. Possibly passing also. Basically the style of play comparison is far fetched. One third of Joe’s FGA have been threes. RJ did not come near that. Could Octave play a key role on a nationally ranked team ?(such as UConn for RJ ) Just speaking for myself, I only shared what popped into my head when I first heard he was coming here, and I looked at some of his AF highlights. Just in terms of a big guard that was sort of a power driver like RJ. Never took the time to compare numbers; agree he has a long way to go to match RJ's accomplishments. I'm just glad that he appears to have fully shaken off that early season floor slippage injury to his leg. Hopefully the best is yet to come.
