Box score shows 1025 or so attended last night’s game. Really? Isn’t that misleading at best? Probably was meant to be 10.25 dozen

What was very noticeable to me was how easy multiple Q players were able to get to the rim without much resistance (what I had envisioned for our program back when CBN was hired). Bo was really the only guy trying to get to the tin, and it seemed like there was always at least one guy ready to contest. I dunno.....better players, better coaching?
I give them credit for not giving up, and battling back to where there was at least a real endgame for a change. But they just are not talented enough to be down 2 core guys.
Speaking of that, I have an idea for a future video board segment during timeouts: Guess Why I am Out
"I'm so and so. Can you guess why I am in civvies tonight? Is it:"
A. I have an upper body injury B. I have a lower body injury C. I have an illness, and probably shouldn't be here D. Not really crazy about the coach
Honestly, for the first time leaving the house on a weeknight to drive to the Hart is starting to feel like a chore. Something positive has to happen, real soon.

Same 3 out tonight (LC, JO and MR). As predicted, Batch with a facemask.

Say Jacked, what's the Dauminator doing these days? One of my favorite college players.

Neon Deion staying at Jackson would have been a feel good story but I have no criticism for his moving on up. Pretty much the same as I would feel about our coach moving on up if he ever wants to. I just would like the HC PTB to make the best case possible for him to stay. Interesting that the State of Mississippi paid (white) Brett Favre more Welfare money for speeches he never made (Favre paid the money back after everything was exposed in the media I believe) than (black) Sanders for all the real positive work he did. There is room for locals to make a fuss over that and try to get the state higher education system to spend adequately to keep the program strong at Jackson State. What do you think of him telling his new players to hit the road?

The 63 vs 60 policy is just about the silliest thing I have ever heard. Just what is the league accomplishing with this, other than to tie another appendage behind each team's back?

I kinda sorta have to agree with BBC here - I think, for instance, if he was the Fordham QB he would get under my skin some. He's brash, he's ultra confident.........but he walks the walk, and I am very glad he's on the side that wears purple! For those national pundits that are lukewarm on HC, I think they underestimate what his personality/presence brings to the team. I know I become more impressed with it every time I watch him.

DeMorat is to Sluka like Wilt Chamberlain was to Bill Russell - wait, Chamberlain won one against Russell.

Need to play better than Saturday to have a real chance for the win against either the Q or NU, imho

I hope someone got a good picture of the Sluka TD run that was called back (where he had his helmet and headband knocked off his head). To me, that captured the essence of what this kid is about: not getting knocked off stride one bit; hair flowing; the "is that all you got?" look on his face as he went into the end zone.
IF they can somehow, someway find a way to keep next weeks' game close for 3 quarters, I would not put it past Sluka to do something amazing, yet again.
Special times to savor.

Think trimster was pretty close with his attendance estimate of about 400. Actually a few more people than I thought.
Shocked that I didn't run into Jay Bilas at this one.
Nice to see some production from the latest transfers.
Highlight for me was crusader1970 coming over to say hello at halftime!

Looks like the guys got tired of hearing how great the CAA was. Oliver certainly played like he was tired of hearing about Laube.

Just look at this board - how many regular posters do we have under the age of 30? Is there a single current student out there who posts? There is no loyalty now; I really can't blame students for not getting engaged and connected with their teams, not just at HC. Ralph Willard seems like a generation ago at this point. Stick around - you may end up being the one to turn the lights out on this whole thing.

I still plan on going to games when my eyes allow me to....I guess I'm just like a wildabeest that just instinctively follows the herd across a river infested with crocodiles.

I just wonder if it's too late to really fix things in this current landscape of college basketball. Sure, if they hire the right guy the product can be improved, but will it really matter?

Sad that some of the recruited upperclassmen can't get playing time.... Sad that said upperclassmen are that bad; or at least in the eyes of the coaching staff are that bad. No other reason to not play them. I was actually trying to convey the same sentiment, tim, just left out "bad". For him to be critical of any player is just an indictment of himself.

Brett Nelson must be crying himself to sleep each night, realizing, after great success as a player and being an assistant at a successful program, that “I don’t have what it takes to be a head basketball coach”. He’s still young- where does he go from here? That's what I've been doing since the season started....actually, a lot longer than that.

To be fair, so would me, you, NAD, Dean Wormer and Iggy (RIP). Can I be the 6th man. Not that you would need much help You can start if you want, Jflare, I don't mind coming off the bench.
