Massey has Holy Cross as 7 point favorites next week (21-14) with a 73% chance for the win.
I wonder if the Ram-Crusader Cup will be on display somewhere before the game?
I'll post the Massey ratings tomorrow morning.

I'll post the Massey ratings tomorrow morning. I’ll take the ‘Saders, thank you. I’m sure that the Hoyas would like to poop in our punch-bowl, but I’d bet they’re more intent on just putting their dumpster-fire season in the rear view mirror. I’m sure there will be a lot of people on the west side of Fitton Field who will be happy to assist.

Seven? Could be 30-35 points.

Pound them for all the times they defeated us during CTG’s tenure.

Pound them for all the times they defeated us during CTG’s tenure. Gilmore was 10-4 (.714) versus Georgetown.

Pound them for all the times they defeated us during CTG’s tenure. The 2007 HC - Georgetown game was the most most lopsided football game I have ever seen.

But I still remember Georgetown beating Holy Cross in 2 straight years when the Hoyas were 2-9 in 2013 and 3-8 in 2014 .

Gtown may have the easiest OOC sched, but they lead the league in points allowed—15.9 Lehigh is second at 21.8 Scoring on Saturday may not be easy

I’ll remind everyone of my prediction that the season would come down to this game. I hope I have personally exorcized enough anxiety of a last minute HC implosion. Score early and often, and enjoy a 2nd half victory lap. We should have learned from the Laf game. Will be there to watch, as in ‘09. Anyone who can make it out to this game should be there. GU will not roll over.

Joe, I remember that prediction quite well. I am VERY glad this game is in Worcester. It does seem got have all the trappings for an upset. Howe ver, that makes a victory even sweeter.
GO CROSS GO!!!

Plus Gtown is not only motivated to be our spoiler, but also to go 6-5 and have a winning season, which I would consider a success for them given their unique approach to competing in a scholarship football league. Weddings, funerals, illness, youth sports and the like should be the only excuses for local fans not to be there. Get some hand warmers and show up.
What will HC do to market this ball game???

Georgetown has an advantage over the rest of the PL football teams that is equal to a scholarship-it has a global reputation which people are willing to pay for today or finance over time. The financial packages are adequate for those needing aid and there is an unstated understanding that the grad programs are options for those that compete for their four year undergraduate experience
So scholarships no, but a global undergrad/grad/law experience keep them competitive.

Careful efg - trying to claim that GU has any kind of advantage will result in a VERY SWIFT debunking by DFW HOYA.
He is also sandbagging big time right now. Saturday will be a close game. Think 17-13 type of struggle.

Thanks for the warning— We have had a number of family members and a couple of former players (Football, Baseball, basketball and LAX)recruited by the Hoyas so very comfortable with the comment. From my experience only, the pitch covers scholarship and non scholarship sports and it is a very positive approach for a top rated academic institution to take-to me that is an asset and should be exploited.
Whether it offers a superior academic experience is debatable, but the world perceives it to be among the best so people are willing to pay for that product and other life opportunities.
with respect to Saturday, their QB is talented and has wheels. If we keep him in the pocket that will help, but pass rush needs to improve. They have a decent defense, but think it resembles Colgate in terms of talent and we should be able to move the ball on the ground and take advantage of the deep ball.
if we limit turnovers to 1 or 2 the final should be 24-10
if we come out flat the could win by a similar number.
Contrary to what many say, the PL product for Football is improving across the board, has parity across the league, and most importantly filled with youth.
the key for us is to continue recruiting, retaining, and developing players so we have more depth than the others in the league.
lets start a streak next Saturday by winning the game and the title

Right now anyway, I see us winning this game fairly easily. This optimism will no doubt decrease dramatically as we get closer to kick-off. From accounts (mainly our friend DFW Hoya) they are pretty banged-up going into this game. We have already had our Fitton clunkah vs Lafayette...which also makes me optimistic for Saturday.

Thanks, Ky one conclusion here is that Gtown plays close games. I believe the most important stat is the one I posted above: 15.9 points allowed, by far the best in the league. So they play low scoring, close games.

Georgetown has/had a decent D...banged up with injuries.
One thing to factor into their "points allowed" howevah are 3 points scored by a 3-7 Pioneer League Marist and 0 by D3 Catholic U....a total of 3 total points in those two games if my math is correct.
They had some nice Ivy road W's earlier against both Cornell and Columbia but seem to be stumbling home at season's end.

Basically true, but two of those last three losses were each by 3 points, the other by 10.
