Weather looks good. Another PL Championship banner unveiled. Undefeated Crusaders. What are we thinking crowd wise? Sad this is the only home game in September. I think the crowd will be the biggest since the UMass Night game! Who is going to the game? What is your guess? Attachments:

You should have added a 15,000+ choice. I'm going and I'm already on record twice for 12,500. Three times the charm?

I am not sure, but I don't believe Yale followers are great travelers. so I will go with a good crowd, weather permitting,---13, 870

I'm skeptical about attendance over 10k usually the aspiration for Homecoming ... but due to Buffalo win; 1k to 1.5k more students & locals a good possibility so 11 to 12k
but, like the enrollment algorithm, maybe the football attendance algorithm needs to be updated

I remember a small crowd for the last Yale-HC game at Fitton in 2018. Possible 8k or less. I think my freshman year (2007), we had a slightly larger crowd witness Dom throw a hat trick of interceptions and easily handle us. Perhaps in the 10 or 11k range. I can't remember if that Sept weekend was also homecoming.
I agree that Yale doesn't seem to travel as well as other New England schools or Ivies, but I suspect there will be a decent number of away fans in the crowd. How much will homecoming drum up the number? Hopefully homecoming, plus less Covid regulations/worries, plus our ranking, plus the publicity of our Hail Mary will result in a higher turnout. I think safely 11-12k is possible. I do hope that all of our non-alum friends and Worcester area residents turn out in full force this season for the Crusaders. Thus far, they appear to be the best team (on paper and the eye test) I have seen in my 15 years of following Crusader football closely. I have a suspicion it might be more along the lines of the best team in 30 years (or more!) Let's hope attendance reflects this.

I am not sure, but I don't believe Yale followers are great travelers. so I will go with a good crowd, weather permitting,---13, 870 There were almost no Yale fans at Yale when we played them three-ish years ago (I was there) so I’m guessing next to none will be in Worcester. About 11k HC fans at Fitton is my estimation so I’m going with 11,200 total if the weather’s good.

this would have been a great game to do something with the Worcester Community-- recognizing a group of restaurants, clubs, and individuals that have or had a meaningful impact on the community over the last 5-20 years

How many were in attendance for recent HC-Yale games at the Bowl? These numbers might or might not be a leading indicator of Yale attendance for this week's game at Fitton. Obviously, there are area Yale grads who might attend the game. The fact that the Red Sox are not in contention might help increase attendance by our local Worcester County neighbors. Team is good; Plays with abandon & wins might attract central Mass residents. Expect many HC students with their friends will be at the game. TBT Yale is an attraction for many. Weather is expected to be great. Some might prefer biking or other outdoor activities on that day. For others it will be a beautiful day to watch a football game.

Understand and agree that is the more appropriate event for that level of focus, but i was thinking in terms of ways to expand the Fitton base

My guess was including no more than 300 Yale fans. They do not travel well except for maybe a Harvard away game. I'm counting on alums and Worcester people filling the seats because of 3 league championships, great weather and importantly, the big Buffalo win that the locals likely heard about.

Last year’s Homecoming Game drew 10,023 on a spectacular day. I predict we will push that to 11,000+ on Saturday. Should be a great day at Fitton Field!

How many were in attendance for recent HC-Yale games at the Bowl? Only 3987 in attendance at Yale Bowl last year to see the Crusaders triumph! It was a VERY hot day but a really good football game.

Pretty much in line with what I think the crowd will be. Hope I'm wrong and 10-12 is understated by a bit. No afternoon games on TV stick out as having a negative effect on the attendance. And, yes, baseball is OVAH in Boston until 2023 (at the earliest).

I'll say just short of 12,000, at 11,901.
Now if we could just get the students who are tailgating on Freshman Field to stop into the stadium - instead of walking right by on their way to "the Lot", I'd have picked a number in the 12-15,000 range.
