Offer #18 Charlie Comella DB/WR/Ath 6'1/175 from Xaverian in MA - same as Hasselbeck Offers from Bowling Green, Harvard, Army, BC (last Sept) Any relation to the Comella's restaurants - i had many a mess in law school. I think they had sons that played in college and NFL?

Are the two already enrolled and attending classes as of the second semester? That could be the reason for the inclusion now. Transfers probably.

Saw HC sent out press that applications were up 23% and portion of admitted students to applicants down 15% from 2022. The "Flutie Effect" is real.

Need to win one of the FBS games and run the rest of the schedule to get a seed.
SDSU will be seeded again. SDSU doesn't have a FBS game next year. They added a cupcake in Drake to their schedule as their 11th game. Other than Montana state and NDSU, they have a pretty easy schedule (relatively for them).

It was a huge turnout for Charlotte. Looks like their should be an alumni chapter in CLT.

The annual AFCA Coaches meetings are in Charlotte this year. Coaches from around the country go to this each and every year. For many coaches it's an opportunity to network (i.e., look for a different job), as well as sharing ideas on stuff. It's a 3 day event from Jan. 8-10 this year. So while down there they hopefully getting together with HC alum in that area. Former HC Player Rob Pedlow owns a few bar and dining establishments in CLT. He and his wife (also an alum) are hosting, and have hosted several events (both general alumni and sports related) in the past. This is the second time that Chesney has appeared at an event down here. There are some former stars in the area like Dr. Golden, Jerry McCabe, etc. that make appearances at these events.

Very rarely do you see a true freshman start at center. Although, think our OC may have done that. Pat Quay was a 4 year starting Center from 1997-2000 as well as Chris Smith (2006-2009) although Smitty played a 5th year (med redshirt) so didn’t technically start his freshman year in 05’. Dave Cannon was a 3 year starter 03’-05’. All were All PL at least one season and perhaps multiple. Quay started at guard first two years, then converted to center.

Chesney's answers in that one video interview is probably the best response I have seen. "Wouldn't you want your head coach to be talked about in that manner"....or something to the effect. Of course he will leave at some point, and good for him if he does. He will have deserved it. I don't think it is this year however. I also don't think he wants to move to be a DC somewhere, unless its P5 money. Let's enjoy him and this ride as long as we can, and then promote Smith or James to HC when he does jump up.

The heir apparent to DeMorat at Fordham, Grant Wilson, entered the Transfer Portal and has committed to FBS Old Dominion. From the reaction on the Fordham Board, this is a significant loss. Hard to figure why someone would leave a fine Jesuit school, and with an opportunity to play, for ODU. Many years ago I lived in VA. Beach for a few years and it was generally understood that ODU's sole admission criterion was that you had to be breathing. He is a graduate transfer - he has a HC degree. It doesn't matter where he gets a Masters. Next step will, and should be, based on football.

If Albert said "two decades ago", I think the tweet was fairly accurate. The survival of the program at the end of the tragic Dan Allen era was definitely in question. I wasn't on Crossports or anything similar at the time but I was friendly with a retired T&G sportswriter who never heard a rumor he didn't repeat, which made him great to talk to. He never mentioned a hint of Holy Cross considering giving up football. So who were the people questioning the survival of Holy Cross Football? It never rose to a vote by the BOT did it? There was some talk on this board about it a long time ago. I thought that T&G sportswriter John G(?). printed every rumor he heard.

If your biggest issue as a FB fan is another team scoring a TD up 2 scores on a 4th and short find another sport to root for. From my guess at least 1/3 of HC fans have no problems with it. And the clock wouldn’t have run out. The clock stops on the change of possession. Understand the rules. Exactly, I know some might be a little upset that the last TD made the score look bad in relation to how close the game was. And some may have had Holy Cross ATS and lost $ on that play. But there were two options for Coach Stig, neither of which were to "take a knee" due to clock stopping on change of possession: a) attempt a relatively easy FG to go up 38-21, making it a three-score game, but risk a block and return by what many would consider a great special teams unit. b) run the play that gives you the best chance of a first down. Stig chose B, and the play resulted in six points. In the end, it was the closest 42-21 game most of us have ever seen. Congrats Jackrabbits on a great win. And FWIW if Janke gets tackled at the 1 on the scoring play, I'm 100% sure SDSU takes a knee rather than going for the score. I get it It is up to the defense to stop. However, the play is to kick the FG, go up multiple scores. If I was still playing, I would try to injure every mother#$@&^*!er on the field if they did that so they never played again. #$@&^*! them. Their coach is a piece of #@*&$~! who looks down on us. Have another few drinks and go for a drive.

NDSU can run the ball. Not impressed by Samford. This HC cake eater's eyes have never seen an uglier group of fans than when they cut out to crowd shots. Also, I think I saw a sniper in the student section (fully ghillie suit). Lastly, the Bison kicker looks like he has a meth problem.

SDSU is legit. Iowa scored more points against Michigan and Ohio State than they did against the Jacks.
It is the greatest of tests, which will, if we play to our potential, exceed our prior accomplishments and leave every ounce of effort on the frigid turf of Dykhouse Stadium, result in the sweetest of victories.

Lou, disagree with what? That Over the Top is a classic rewatchable? I love Matt Sluka and how he plays. #1 from UNH found out the hard way. “You want to put the crown of your helmet in my chin, That’s fine…but you’re getting trucked and then I’m gonna smile like that’s all you got?!” And I 100% know ALL of Stallone’s IMDB. Buy Sluka a truckers cap so he can turn it on/around, like a switch
