Have not bought my tickets yet for BC.... Long range is for scattered thunder showers... also there seems to be some good deals on seatgeek... wonder how many BC fans will be selling their seats after what happened yesterday at the "heights" If we can pull it out next week maybe they change the name to "lows"...

Yesterday's game can be summed up by making these two points...
1.) Halftime adjustments were made and they worked!
2.) Our in game substitutions kept our guys fresh and they came through when needed during the second half... you could see the MC team was a step slower in the 3rd quarter and two steps slower in the fourth!
On to BC...

Well, maybe they do READ Crossports! They have corrected 2 out of the 3 links... click on goholycross.com/programs and in one instance it still takes you to last year's Lehigh game roster and click on the other goholycross.com/programs and it takes you to the correct link for today's game ... Guess that's PROGRESS, but we ain't there yet! I've said it before... You are a D1 PROGRAM, start acting like one!!! Off to the game.... GO CROSS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, good morning, my friend! First, these problems are not like a unique issue. It's been this way for years. I've shared with them multiple times that their "systems" generally have problems and, I believe based on other things that I do with Holy Cross, it is not unique with the Athletic Department. How many times have you and I talked about one of us getting an email and the other didn't? And, not consistent - sometimes you get it and I don't and vice versa. Do they have a computer science major on the hill? Not sure about you but I took a course in the late 60's all about punch cards! (Think: "hanging chads! ) Not sure they got any more advanced since then. Oh, FWIW, I just brought up the game day rosters and, sorry to tell you, no problem. Might have just been a timing issue . . . . this time, because you issue is valid. P.S. Should I print one up for you? Yes, you are correct in that if you go to goholycross.com directly in your browser it takes you to today's game day items including, date, time, location, tv, etc. and roster. There you can get the correct roster sheet for today's game! BUT, to my point, if you click on the links provided in the email that I referenced, it STILL takes you to the HC vs LEHIGH game from last November! Thanks, but I have already printed one! Maybe, you can give "your guy" NS a heads up so this can be taken care of....

In today's 'Sader Scoop Holy Cross vs Merrimack email, they have links to: 1.) The Game Day Program 2.) Roster Sheet 3.) goholycross.com/programs The only PROBLEM is that if you click on any of these links, you get the Holy Cross/Lehigh game from SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2022! You would think with all the "people they have working in the Athletic Department, somebody would be in charge of checking these things for CORRECTNESS!!! It's not like they didn't have enough time to prepare this and CHECK IT OUT!!! Guess that's asking too much...

Can’t really discern much from the photos- did you steal these from Foley? Planned it that way... could have taken a few shots of formations... but did not want to give our opponents lurking here any "inside info"!

Parking in Brighton at the New Balance parking garage is available for $20 with shuttle bus service BC. Confirmed with the BC ticket office.... Do they still do the free shuttle from Needham? Have no info on that... only asked about Brighton because that's where we parked last time we played BC.

We have aisle in PP by QQ as well @$25 each I. Parking cost me almost as much. I am sure! Last time we took a freeshuttle from Brighton. Apparently they are not offering this anymore so the plan will be to park at Riverside and ride the green /sline in. On another note, anyone know when HC will release a block of tickets for West Point? Parking in Brighton at the New Balance parking garage is available for $20 with shuttle bus service BC. Confirmed with the BC ticket office....

Lots of non-highway driving to get from his home to Amherst, a classic "you can't get there from here" place, unfortunately. Bad time to sell a house, would have been much better for him in that regard if he didn't make it to Year 4. Bet he keeps it a while.
Good luck to him, best for all concerned he's moved on. Your first statement is absolutely true but I don't agree with your second statement... he could put his house on the market and realistically make about $200,000.00 more than what he bought it for! Location, location, location! Also his son attends the Christian School. There are many really good private schools in the Amherst area. I wish him and his family all the best!!! Well, the Brett Nelson era here in the Worcester County area has officially closed! Several moving vans were loaded up this past week and the Nelsons have officially left the area for "greener pastures" in Western Mass, taking with them a lot of "green"! A bidding war took place and they rode off with a cool $325,000 profit! Terrific return on a 4 year investment! Good for him and his family, all the best!

Was his grandfather (or ggf, I guess) the long time WA coach? (edit)- believe Tom Blackburn was his grandfather. Unless there's another Jake Blackburn who matriculated there. Maybe ... son of Jim Blackburn Both are correct, grandson of Tom and son of Jim, from Southborough! I knew Tom Blackburn well, a really good athlete who played both basketball and baseball at Duke, even throwing a no-hitter at Rollins College in Florida. I remember Tom and his wife Peg for a number of reasons... He was AD and Basketball Coach at Grafton HS for many years. I played for St. Mary's of Milford and during my senior year we lost our first game to Sacred Heart of Worcester and HC '67 classmate John Burke (RIP)! We then lost our second game to Tom's Grafton team in Grafton 52 -48. Later in the season we beat that same Grafton team 85 - 32 on our home court. I will always remember Tom coming into our locker room after that game and congratulating our players and coaches on the "Outstanding" game we played... he was such a good sport and wonderful person! Years later I would see him and talk basketball with him as he attended many HC games, always appreciating his insight into the games! In addition, my wife worked with his wife Peg in Real Estate with Dorothy Hickox RE in Grafton and Westborough. Tom passed in August last year at the age of 88, I have included a link to his obituary, showing his illustrious career! roneyfuneralhome.com/book-of-memories/4997275/Blackburn-Thomas/index.php

Grade inflation? Smarter students? Perhaps a bit of both considering the 1970 Class was all male and essentially eliminated at least half of the population. I just compared the graduation programs of the Class of 1970 vs. the Class of 2023 based on the respective graduation programs. In 1970, we had 3 students who received masters degrees, which I've eliminated from the discussion. Did this all manually so if anyone wants to go through and check my math, have at it. Category # 2023 1970Summa 49 9 Magna 113 24 Cum Laude 185 45 No Honors 409 467 Total 756 545 Category % 2023 1970Summa 6.48% 1.68% 1.65%Magna 14.95% 4.40% Cum Laude 24.47% 8.26% No Honors 54.10% 85.69% I don't think Holy Cross is unique in this regard of having almost half its graduates doing so with honors. My own theory is that there are a combination of factors. The first is the potential student base is at least doubled with women now in the mix so Holy Cross can be a bit more picky in selecting its students. I honestly believe that a case can be made for grade inflation over the decades. So, the average Crusader graduate today may be smarter but not THAT much smarter! Really, just looking to generate some discussion. FIXED IT FOR YA!!!

Well, that was quick... house went on the market a week ago today! Open house last Sunday and "under contract" already! Listed for $250,000.00 over purchase price in 2019! Good for the Nelson family! All the best to them as they head to Western Mass!

Whitinsville Christian? That's a good basketball school but the route from Whitinsville to Amherst would be Rte 146 to the Mass Pike to either Palmer or Rte. 91. That's a long drive. Yes, Whitinsville Christian (Alex and Justin Vander Baan) and his son is a very good basketball player, likely in the seventh/eighth grade. Yes, it is indeed a long drive, maybe longer going route 9!

Good for him. Might not even have to move if he doesn’t want to. His commute from this area would be a minimum 1hr 20 minutes.... Close to 3 hrs/day per round trip.
