Relax - some kids commit to a coach, some to a school. Some of these kids will decommit pending coaching decision and may or may sign here. There is probably some fear that the new coach won't want them. Up to the guys still in the room to calm the commitments. I trust DMike and James, et. al.

What about Justin Roper? OC at Furman and prior HC OC.

Don't cry because it is over...
If true, as it appears to be, thanks to FHC BC. He will be leaving us in better condition than he found us. HC Football is a special family, and he guided that family well.
He has my gratitude and I will root for his continued success.

My hope is that ADKH has a file ready to go and is already vetting. He should be on an immediate call with Maloney, Larry, Artie, 1843 Collective folks, Gordie, (other influentials), and get their feedback - want to keep them engaged and ready to help.
I like Smith (passion for the purple) and James for continuity.
I am not fan of hiring from other PL programs, but I have heard great things about RYAN ROEDER at Laf. Not sure if he was the experience to be head coach, but he would come with some good recommendations. Can also call Tim O'Donnell at NYG for information.

Chesney hasn’t even left yet and many of you have him already gone. Hope he doesn’t actually read these things. If he does leave maybe he’ll be fortunate enough to go to school and program where the fans actually care more about sitting in the stands watching their great team then hanging out Tailgating through the entire game. Not to mention all the students that never make it into the game. And the kids drinking through the game in the parking lots which brings up other issues. The support for the team is poor. I’ve been to many other college environments while traveling for work and seeing student sections that are full and energetic. I was late arriving for a game one time due to a family commitment and while walking through the baseball parking lot , I witnessed a bunch of clowns, fully decked out in their Holy Cross gear with a Holy Cross ez-up, holy cross cups, table cloths, etc. listening to the game on the radio and cheering when they heard a good play, meanwhile, the game is actually going on not 50 yards from them. Pathetic. Way to support the team (and Chesney). And another thing maybe he’ll go to a school that actually has a band that you can hear during the game and before the game and after the game. I remember my father saying that that was one of the things that Rick Carter asked for when he came here years ago. I remember how great that was. There’s a lot of hypocrite HC fans. You want a great coach and you want a great team but the support doesn’t match that. As a whole, I feel like we don’t deserve Chesney or the team that we have had in recent years. I think you have no idea what you are talking about. We actually all would love Chesney to stay. We want here for as long as we can. I would have loved to play for him. I think you are conflating our fear of losing him or respect for his ability with our understanding that that he deserves to be a P5 coach. He is great.

My wife and I do plan to have one more, so I'd be happy to join you in naming my second child Robert Chesney. Would be unfortunate if it turned out to be a daughter, but she'll be tougher for it. She can go by "Bobbie"

Do folks just NOT look at other posts before posing. I understand the occasional crossing of the streams at the same time but this seems to happening more frequently. I missed your post. You can consider me sufficiently chided. Some of us are working and trying to keep up.

If these two scenarios are true, it seems to indicate he wants to leave HC. Why else would he pursue the first two viable openings available ? Perhaps his phrase “at HC you can have it all” applied to players only. This is unfair, and frankly, ignorant. It is not about him wanting to leave a place, but rather trying to advance in his career. We shouldn't begrudge a man for that. It is not like he will ever leave for a FCS job or low end FBS job. He has been a great part of HC and hopefully continues to be in the future. However, he has earned a shot at FBS and I'll root for him when he does leave (except if he plays against HC).

I get it. JMU is an attractive job as far as non-P5 (P4) goes. Solid team with continuously wining pedigree and stepping stone job for coaches.
For reference, JMU pay mid of the pack for Sunbelt. Cignatti made 548K plus about 100K in bonuses. He'll probably make 4-5 mil at Indiana. If Chesney decides to take the job, it will be about moving to FBS, not the money at JMU.
Again, hope he stays and shows the world how good he is by winning a 'ship at HC.

I don't want him to go, but I will feel kind of offended if they don't go with him. Coach Chesney is a star. We're lucky to have him (and I hope he feels the same way about being at HC). Syracuse would be lucky to get him.

Obviously, I hope we keep BC. However, he is too good not to get a chance at the P5 level. Cuse would be lucky to get him. Duke or BC would be good fit for him. Fingers crossed that when he moves on, we get a Chris Smith or James to slide in to head coach role to continue growth of program.

Surprised that local Worcester joints are not using HC athletes more, e.g. Jacob Dobbs eats Herbies sandwiches, Dickson drinks his Natty's at McGuire's, etc.
EDIT: Yes, I heard that McGuire's was long gone - RIP.

If it was based solely on his Twitter followers, he will have plenty of options at the FBS and FCS (obviously) levels. Partial list of schools with coaches that follow him: UTSA, Coastal, Alcorn St, Marshall, NIU, CCSU, Bryant, North Dakota, Miami (FL), Youngstown, Rutgers, UT Martin, Washington State, Syracuse, Buffalo, Troy, Pitt.
